Reaching the half way point of my thirties was a bit of a strange one, it fell in the middle of an 18 month trip around the world for me. When i had first told friends and family i was quitting my job and selling my house to go travelling at the age of 34 are got some mixed reactions!
Thing is they all new it was something i had wanted to do since i was about 18, i suppose when i reached my late twenties and had a good job, a house, a nice car and a great girlfriend they thought i was happy and that was what my life was now going to be. Well i had really itchy feet, in fact they had been extremely itchy since i was 18 but life just happened and before i knew it here i was in a good job i didn’t enjoy! Luckily for me my girlfriend (although 8 years younger) had the same feelings. So one night after talking about it i just went online and booked two one way flights to Kuala Lumpur!
18 months on and i was back home after having the time of my life, it went so quick and coming back to see friends and family still doing the same day to day things was admittedly a struggle. As much as i missed them i found myself wanting to travel even more! Reaching the age of 35 people expect me to be settling down and getting back into the life i once had, not for me, not anymore! I have now been on a mission to get my fitness in check so i can have a little more ‘adventure’ in my travel. I have started at the gym, cut back on the drinking (this is mainly because i can’t take the hangovers anymore) and after reading this E-Lites review i am well on my way to kicking the smoking into touch!
I guess the physical things are getting a little more difficult the older i get so this is just a way of preparing myself. In my head i still feel 21, i always wonder if anyone truly ‘grows up’. The way i see it i’m just getting going! The saying “Its never too late” really is true!
